KANSAS CITY, Mo. â Three Kansas City metro mayoral races are clear following Tuesdayâs primary election, and several area school boards and municipalities could have a new makeup with several incumbents set to defend their posts.

In Overland Park, Mike Czinege garnered 8,989 votes, or 39%, followed by
Ward 2 Councilman Curt Skoog, who received 5,459 votes, or 23%, according to unofficial final results. They will advance to the Nov. 2 general election.

SUSSEX COUNTY- Habitat for Humanity is getting back to some normalcy one day at a time.
During the pandemic, they needed to adjust how they were going to build houses and what services they would offer.
They said the past year really shined a light on other services they can provide like helping with energy efficient programs and keeping people in their homes.
But, as restrictions have lifted and vaccinations are being given out, the organization is staying optimistic as things are looking up.
“We’ve seen in the recent months with volunteers are starting to come back out in larger numbers, we can accommodate small groups, which we weren’t able to do during the pandemic and we’ve also added all these other services around repairs and energy efficiency,” Kevin Gilmore, Executive Director of Sussex County Habitat for Humanity, said.
