Fewer Than 2,400 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Have Been Wasted In Wisconsin

As Wisconsin nears 1.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses administered, the state has only wasted 2,349 doses.

Fewer than 2,400 doses of the highly sought after coronavirus vaccine were wasted or spoiled in Wisconsin through February, with the single largest loss happening when an employee did it on purpose, data provided by the state health department shows.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services provided the data Saturday at the request of The Associated Press. It shows that through February, there had been more than 1.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered and just 2,349 were wasted or spoiled. That is a spoilage rate of 0.16%. ....

Wisconsin has opened more COVID-19 mass vaccination sites with the latest addition coming to Lambeau Field.
Bellin Health, the Green Bay Packers and Brown County Public Health have partnered on the vaccination clinic, which opens Wednesday.
“Lambeau, simply put, is a perfect place for this. It’s ideal. It’s very visible. It’s very well known, and it’s accessible, and the crew there is second to none in terms of its ability to get large groups of people in and out with ease,” said Bellin Health President and CEO ....

Ohio s eligibility for COVID-19 vaccines will expand this week to people 40 and older and those with additional medical conditions, including cancer and obesity, Gov. Mike DeWine announced at a news conference Tuesday morning in Cleveland.
And by the end of the month, all Ohioans 16 and older will be eligible to get the vaccine.
Eligibility starts Friday for about 766,000 Ohioans in Phase 1E, which includes those 16 and older with cancer, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart disease and obesity.
Friday also marks the start of Phase 2C those 40 and older, including about 818,000 Ohioans between age 40 and 49. ....
