With her handler Chris Francis, the association’s callout co-ordinator, she has been a regular at many searches throughout her nine year career. Many callouts were in atrocious and risky conditions on the central Lakeland fells, as her home team, Keswick Mountain Rescue, are one of the key teams serving in the area. She has taken part in searches not only in the Lakes, but also in the Scottish Borders, the Highlands, Yorkshire and Lancashire, and was responsible for a notable find of an elderly gentleman in South Lakeland who had fallen and become stuck in a section of woodland near Newby Bridge. ....

The owners of a guesthouse have been given a welcome boost after the Keswick branch of Booths agreed to sell their charity cookbook “Bakes from the Lakes” in store. More than £2,500 has been raised from the sales of Glencoe Guesthouse owners Sally and Keith Lunson’s books to date, with pre-Christmas sales being really encouraging and helping a good cause. “Inquiries have gone quiet recently, not surprisingly with the ongoing Covid situation, but we’re hopeful that sales will pick up extraordinarily when visitors return and even more so with Booths also coming on board” said Keith. In addition to Booths, Andrew Bezuszko, of Keswick Post Office, has been selling out of supplies all through the lockdowns, Bookends has also stocked the books and when allowed to be open, Alternative, Java Coffee Shop and The Card Collection also had books for sale. ....
