In wake of recent tragedies involving children in the Greater Cincinnati area, Mason School Superintendent Jonathan Cooper took to social media Friday to talk about the impact these events have on our communities. The tragic events that have happened here at Mason have impacted us all. A lot of times we search for answers Why did this happen? and oftentimes, there are not answers, not easy answers, but there is support, Cooper said. A few years ago, the Mason School District invested in a mental wellness team. We have a whole mental wellness team that is working right alongside our counselors to provide the resources that families and students need, said Mason City Schools spokesperson Tracey Carson. The team includes nine school-based therapists from Children s Hospital and also therapy dogs. Members of the team are available to parents as well as students.
