Cape Coral Hospital gets neonatal simulation lab By CJ HADDAD - | Mar 3, 2021 Cape Coral Hospital is now home to a new simulation lab that will better help healthcare workers when it comes to newborns. A neonatal simulation lab has been completed at Cape hospital inside of the birthing suites that will be used for training medical professionals on how to prepare for emergencies. The Golisano Children’s Hospital NICU simulation team oversaw the setup of the lab. Lee Health officials said the team consisted of NICU nurses and a neonatologist who dedicated time to simulation of newborn situations, which leads to improved outcomes in the baby. ....

To supply the needs of the health care system’s four acute care hospitals–Cape Coral Hospital, Gulf Coast Medical Center, HealthPark Medical Center and Lee Memorial Hospital and its regional Trauma Center as well as its specialty hospitals and facilities Golisano Children’s Hospital, the Rehabilitation Hospital, the Regional Cancer Center and Lee Health Coconut Point Lee Health needs at least 800 donations a week. That’s how many volunteers need to roll up their sleeves each week to help Lee Health maintain the blood supply required for patient care. ....
Dunkin’ continues to expand its reach in Cape Coral and throughout Southwest Florida. The coffee, donut and fast food chain, which officially dropped “Donuts” as the second word of its brand name, will be taking over a standalone location at 1014 Del Prado Blvd. in Cape Coral adjacent to SE 10th Terrace, south of Cape Coral Hospital. That spot, with a drive-thru window, did not work for Scooter’s Coffee. “I believe in the power of the brand,” said Michael Koroghlian, who will own the franchise. His company purchased the building for $575,000 in November, property records show. He owns almost half of Dunkin s locations in Lee and Collier counties. There are 30 in Lee and 15 in Collier. ....
Lee Health administers first COVID vaccines By Staff | Dec 30, 2020 Lee Health administered the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to employees last Tuesday with a limited number of inoculations made available to front-line healthcare workers and those 65 and older beginning Monday through the Department of Health – Lee County. The health care provider has received 2295 doses at Gulf Coast Medical Center and 1,950 at Cape Coral Hospital, according to Lee Health spokesperson Jonathon Little. Registered nurse Samara Marin, Henry Jackson with transportation services, and Dr. Stephanie Stovall with pediatric infection prevention, were the first to receive the vaccine. “We are ready. Lee Health has followed guidelines from the CDC and the State of Florida to establish our vaccination plan,” said Larry Antonucci, M.D., MBA, president and CEO of Lee Health. “This vaccine provides hope that we can soon put an end to this long, arduous journey.
