The Islamabad High Court has dismissed the petition seeking cancellation of in-person O/A Level exams across the country.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah remarked that courts can’t interfere in policy matters, adding that the case can be sent to the National Command Operation Center. The federal government can’t issue instructions to Cambridge, the judge remarked.
The students said that it is too risky for them to take exams in person, adding that the exams should be moved online. ....

The Sindh High Court has summoned the federal government’s policy on O and A level exams starting April 26 across the country.
In a hearing on Thursday, the petitioner told the court that Cambridge exams across the world were being taken online or were moved to
School Assessed Grades.
“Pakistan is the only country where thousands of students are being called in to sit for the assessments amid a pandemic,” he said. Advocate Jibran Nasir, who first approached the court over the matter, pointed out that exams are starting from April 26. ....

Schools and nurseries are closed from today except for vulnerable children and those of key workers as the Island enters a second lockdown.
The decision was announced by the Chief Minster on Tuesday after seven new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed on Island.
