Longtime Lubbock auto dealer Alderson Auto Group selling to San Antonio company

Lubbock s Alderson Family of Dealerships this week announced that the company with a more than 70-year history in the Hub City will soon be led by a San Antonio based auto group.
Alderson, which was founded in Lubbock in 1949 and now has dealerships in Lubbock and Midland, will be part of the Cavender Auto Group, pending a sale that s expected to close within the next 90 to 120 days.
David Alderson, the company s third-generation owner who also serves as its president and CEO, said now seemed like the right time to transition to new leadership and for his family to step back from the company, adding that the Cavender Auto Group seemed like the best fit to take over. ....

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - After serving customers of West Texas for more than 70 years, Alderson Auto Group has sold to another company.
The announcement was made Monday morning after employees were notified.
The company has been in business since 1949 and has locations in Lubbock and Midland: Cadillac at 1210 19th Street Lubbock, Texas, BMW at 1120 19th Street, Mercedes-Benz either in Lubbock at 1702 Texas Avenue or in Midland at 5801 Andrews Highway, Lexus at 1302 19th Street, or Audi Lubbock at 1949 W. Loop 289. ....

Now that Hixon-Cavender has finished construction of the Soto office building, the local partnership looks to the next phase of the mini-neighborhood it is developing on a key stretch of Broadway linking downtown and the Pearl.
Next up is a food-and-beverage market that will occupy two historic buildings behind the Soto and will include a courtyard for outdoor seating, said John Beauchamp, the chief investment officer for Hixon Properties. He calls it the Make-Ready Market, but that’s a tentative name. ....
