Ignite academies deadline July 15
July 15 is the deadline for Little Rock School District families to enroll their children in the Ignite Digital Academies for the 2021-22 school year.
The academies one for kindergarten through sixth grades and the other for seventh through 12th grades are the district s only options this coming school year for families who want their students to receive remote, online instruction away from the traditional classroom.
All other students will attend in-person instruction at their regularly assigned school Monday through Friday. ....

Two Little Rock high schools with low enrollment should be given time to develop,
Little Rock School District Superintendent Mike Poore told the
LRSD School Board on Thursday. LRSD staff also urged the board to consider going back to Little Rock voters to approve a millage extension as soon as early June.

Hall STEAM Magnet for at least three years. He also advocated for adding a virtual school component to West, and suggested that Hall and nearby K-8 Forest Heights STEM Academy partner as a K-12. Poore also mentioned a “unique staffing model … in ways that Little Rock has never seen” at Hall to make it as cost-efficient as possible. Little Rock School District Superintendent Mike Poore told the LRSD Board that 1,600 district employees have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. That’s half of the 3,200 the LRSD employs. Another 200-300, who were late to register for a vaccine appointment, should receive shots next week, Poore said.
Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Cornerstone Pharmacy, Baptist Health, Don’s Pharmacy, Kroger and Park West Pharmacy have run vaccination clinics for the district.

Little Rock Education Association, celebrated the vaccination effort, but also asked for a moment of silence for the educators who have died of COVID-19.
