The new WhatsApp privacy policy has led to users search for alternatives that do not share their confidential details with other apps and services. One such private encrypted messaging app is Signal, which saw a massive spike in registration after the world’s richest man Elon Musk recommended it to users.
Signal informed about the surge in user registration on Twitter. “Verification codes are currently delayed across several providers because so many new people are trying to join Signal right now (we can barely register our excitement). We are working with carriers to resolve this as quickly as possible,” the app’s official Twitter account tweeted. ....

Whatsapp users risk losing access to their accounts in new privacy rules introduced by the parent company, Facebook. A pop-up notification on Whatsapp requests users to either agree or decline to the new terms by February 8. 
The new policy has asked users to accept sharing their data with Facebook if they want to continue using the free app. Those who decline by pressing the not now button are directed to delete their accounts. 
Most Whatsapp users have subscribed to the policy, hitting the agree button without reading the terms and conditions stipulated.  ....

Popular messaging app WhatsApp is changing its privacy policy and users will lose access to their accounts if they do not agree by February 8.
Facebook-owned WhatsApp, which boasts two billion active users, is sending users a pop-up asking them to agree to share data with Facebook.
However, the pop-up message makes it clear that agreeing to this is compulsory if people want to keep using the free app - and you will lose access to your account if you do not agree after February 8. ....
