The review of services at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTh), led by senior midwife Donna Ockenden, published an interim report last year. It focussed on the experience of families and now Ms Ockenden wants to hear from staff to understand exactly what did go on in maternity services . Feb 2, 2021 Ian Haylock The appointment of Deputy Comptroller of Customs Estelle Leslie to the highest office within the Customs and Excise Department hasn’t been without its share of controversy. Leslie, who succeeds Colin Griffith as Comptroller of Customs, was selected by the Briceño administration in a process that also saw senior customs officer Ian Haylock applying for the post. Leslie and Haylock have been with the department since 1989 when they both enlisted in the public service. It is Haylock’s position, however, that he was passed over in favor of Leslie. He maintains that he has seniority, as well qualifications over his former colleague and as a result has filed a claim before the Supreme Court to challenge the selection process via judicial review. The suit is being brought against the Prime Minister and Attorney General’s ministries and filed on Haylock’s behalf by former Prime Minister Dean Barrow and former Senate President Darrell Brad ....
Jan 7, 2021 Ian Haylock A decision on who will succeed Colin Griffith as the next Comptroller of Customs is yet to be determined by the Ministry of Finance. While senior customs officers Ian Haylock and Estelle Leslie have interviewed for the post, an announcement is pending. Until then, the Customs and Excise Department’s outgoing head has been granted a one-month extension following the expiration of his contract on December twenty-eighth. Both candidates are eminently qualified, having entered the public service in the capacity of customs officers in 1988 and then working their way up through the department’s ranks by pursuing advanced studies at the University of the West Indies before earning the three-year requisite experience as deputy comptrollers of customs. While Griffith’s brief contract extension comes to an end on January twenty-eighth, News Five understands that Leslie’s interview was successful. ....
