GREENE (WBNG) The Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) introduced a new series of summer concerts this year as live music makes a return after the pandemic. The Summer Chamber Music Series features a brass quintet playing a program of music titled Music of the Americas. The BPO usually performs from September through May but this new series of summer concerts allows musicians to continue performing. Assistant Executive Director Abby Cleveland said these concerts are a great way to connect the community through the power of live music. What we re really trying to do is expand to diverse communities, Cleveland said. We re looking at the small rural areas like Greene and Owego. We re even looking at some of our historically black church in Binghamton and we re reaching out to these communities that normally wouldn t be at the Forum Theatre where we traditionally perform. ....
