Stourbridge man Moses Christensen is sentenced for murder

A 22-YEAR-OLD Stourbridge man has been sentenced to 28 years behind bars for the brutal murder of pensioner Richard Hall, who was killed in a knife attack at a Shropshire beauty spot last summer.
Mr Hall, aged 70, from Perton, Staffordshire, had been walking on Brown Clee Hill on Thursday August 13 when he was stabbed to death by Moses Christensen from Oldswinford, who had gone missing from home after telling relatives he wanted to kill.
Christensen, of Corser Street, was found guilty of murder after a trial at Stafford Crown Court and he was today (Thursday April 8) sentenced to 28 years.
He was also sentenced to 28 months to run concurrently, for possession of a knife. ....

A man who murdered a walker in a random knife attack at a beauty spot has been jailed for at least 28 years.
Moses Christensen, 22, killed 70-year-old Richard Hall on Brown Clee Hill in Shropshire in August.
Passing sentence at Stafford Crown Court, the judge described it as a brutal and entirely senseless killing of an innocent stranger who had caused you no offence .
He added the murder had been committed with great savagery .
The trial last month heard Christensen had roamed the hillside looking for someone to kill. ....

A murderer who stabbed a hillwalker in a random attack “just for the sake of killing somebody” has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 28 years.
Moses Christensen was found guilty of murder last month after jurors rejected his claim of diminished responsibility over the “savage and animalistic” killing of 70-year-old Richard Hall.
A trial at Stafford Crown Court was told the 22-year-old walked around 20 miles to Shropshire’s Brown Clee Hill over several days, before repeatedly stabbing his victim near a communications mast.
He later told police he had decided to kill after crossing paths with an “easy target” and smiling, in an apparently sincere greeting to gain the element of surprise. ....
