CORRESPONDENTS KOKRAJHAR/BONGAIGAON: Assam Minister for Handloom and Textile, Soil Conservation and Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes (BTC part), Urkhao Gwra Brahma on Thursday visited Chirang district and held meeting with the district administration and district health authorities to review and assess the prevailing COVID-19 situation, including action taken activities and future course of action to contain the pandemic in the district in the presence of BTR Executive Member and in-charge of health department Arup Kumar Dey and Sidli MLA Jayanta Basumatary. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner and chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, Chirang, Gautam Talukdar apprised the house about issues relating to recent trends in active cases, deaths and positivity rate, vaccination process, availability of medical infrastructure, oxygen, manpower, home isolation procedures and COVID-19 testing facilities. ....
