LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The past couple of days, we have shared with you a real grassroots type of effort to help a local family in need: A man raising six children without some very basic necessities. LEX 18 met with fundraiser organizers Thursday who are blown away.
Roger and his family moved to the U.S. as refugees from Congo almost 10 years ago. Roger s wife suddenly died this year and Roger quit his job to take care of his six children. So, off-duty Lexington police officer Ryan Holland started an online fundraiser to bridge the gap. Touched by Roger s story, a Lexington mom shared the post, asking for item donations. ....
