JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Those who planned to get the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine will have to wait or make other plans.
As a result, several area vaccine clinics have been canceled, including:
Jonesboro:
Pop-up vaccine clinic scheduled for Tuesday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Craighead County Health Unit, 611 E. Washington Ave. has been canceled.
Paragould:
Arkansas Methodist Medical Center announced the vaccine clinic scheduled for Tuesday, April 13, has been cancelled. Those with questions should call 870-205-2000. It will offer the Moderna vaccine on Saturday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Paragould Community Center. ....

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Here is a list of COVID-19 vaccine clinics available in Region 8:
Batesville:
NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University will hold a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Batesville April 13. The clinic will be from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Batesville High School gym, at 1 Pioneer Drive. All Arkansans ages 18 and up are eligible to participate. NYITCOM will be administering the Moderna vaccine, and the people who attend the event will be required to return on May 11 for their second dose. The follow-up event will also be held in the Batesville High School gym. Insurance is not required, and vaccines are free to those eligible due to a grant NYITCOM received from the Arkansas Minority Health Commission. ....

Jonesboro says they will 'stay the course' on COVID fight

Arkansans may not be required to wear a mask, but the City of Jonesboro is encouraging its citizens to be mindful of others who choose to continue wearing one during the pandemic.
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced an end the statewide mask mandate during a press conference on Tuesday. However, he encouraged residents to continue to wear their mask and practice social distancing.
Jonesboro Mayor Harold Copenhaver said in a news release on Wednesday that the city government will continue with its current public health guidelines established to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
“To care for the health of City employees and be responsible to our community, we will continue to ask those doing business in City facilities to practice social distancing and wear masks when coming to City offices,” Copenhaver said in the statement. ....
