CHOTEAU â Glen Swanson, a Choteau man who made the whole town his friend, is being honored after his passing with a day of his own. After being hospitalized with an extended illness, Glen passed on April 14th. On Friday, the Choteau community came out in Bulldog maroon and gold to honor Glen at a memorial service.
Swanson was loved by all in Choteau, and was known for his cheerful Hello, my friend! greeting to anyone he came across. Now with his passing the mayor of his beloved town has proclaimed April 23rd as Glen Swanson Day.

In the race for mayor in Wauconda, current village Trustee Jeff Sode is being challenged by Sandra Jo McClain, a social worker making her first run at public office who says the village isn t responding well enough to residents concerns.
Mayor Lincoln Knight is not seeking reelection but instead is challenging incumbent Glenn Swanson for Wauconda Township Supervisor.
Three village trustee positions also are up for election April 6, but only the mayor s race is contested. Sode has two more years left on his term as trustee, so if he loses to McClain, he would remain on the board.

Lying at the northern tip of Michigan s lower peninsula in a remote area void of traffic and well.roads, lies a trail leading to what was once was a busy launch pad NASA once used for launching rockets. Yep, the kind of rockets that require a launch pad.
Today the area is called the Keweenaw Rocket Range and this launch pad was once used and served as a kind of home base for research projects between NASA and Michigan Colleges and Universities..
