The Shoe Box Appeal run by Highland-based charity Blythswood Care has been declared a success despite Covid-19 restrictions.
With the last lorry leaving a sorting station in Kent yesterday – bound for Romania – the charity has now sent 75,218 gift-filled boxes to eight countries in Eastern Europe.
Other than Inverness and Perth, all our sorting processes took place in lockdown situations, says Blythswood’s head of projects, Finlay Mackenzie. ....

Four-year-old Ismedin, in Kosovo, was delighted with his gift-filled shoebox.
The Shoe Box Appeal run by Highland-based charity Blythswood Care has been declared a success despite Covid-19 restrictions.
With the last lorry leaving a sorting station in Kent today – bound for Romania – the charity has now sent 75,218 gift-filled boxes to eight countries in Eastern Europe.
