Batawa outdoor skating rinks to reopen

Quinte West residents have something to celebrate this week as the Batawa outdoor skating rinks are scheduled to reopen. After careful consideration, the Quinte West Emergency Control Group will allow the rinks to reopen for skating starting tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 22, with increased safety measures in place.
• The rinks will be open daily from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. weather permitting. Check https://www.facebook.com/batawalionsclub for conditions
• Maximum 20 people on a rink surface at one time
• Masks must be worn at all times
• Please check the live web cameras at www.batawalionsclub.com before leaving your house to ensure rinks are not busy ....

As of January 14, 2021, at 12:01 a.m., the City of Quinte West has closed all outdoor skating rinks in Batawa as well as the Kinsmen Community Dog Park.
Quinte West’s Emergency Control Group met Wednesday to discuss Premier Doug Ford’s announcement of a province-wide Stay-at-Home Order.

The closures of skating rinks and the dog park are to help support the directive banning of outdoor gatherings of five or more people. The City of Quinte West is encouraging residents wishing to exercise outdoors to maintain as my physical distance from others as possible and to avoid gatherings. ....
