Futsal League returns on June 4 after four-year hiatus

The Brunei Futsal League (BFL) 2021 will kick off on June 4 with 17 teams participating after a four-year-long absence.
The opening fixture will see Qahar FT taking on Shah United at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium Sports Complex.
Teams were drawn into two groups on Tuesday by club representatives during a manager’s meeting.
Group ‘A’ comprise Shah United, Kota Ranger, GG FT, Silveredz FT, Almerez Ranger, Qahar FT, Creativol and BIBD RSC.
Group ‘B’ has Arbisyam FC, MS ABDB, Syahkampong, Kasuka and Rawda, PES, Street United, DDT FT, OKP and RS FT. With all 17 teams directly awarded a place in the league, this year’s edition will not feature a qualifying round while a tier two futsal structure has been planned in 2022. ....

New Delhi [India], May 4 (ANI): 2022 will be a landmark year for women s football with two major international events the AFC Women s Asian Cup 2022 and the FIFA U-17 Women s World Cup 2022 set to be hosted in India.
As one builds up to the mega-events and moves forward together, another first-of-its-kind milestone will be achieved as an Indian club is set to feature in the AFC Women s Club Championship 2021, a pilot tournament being implemented soon by the Asian Football Confederation.
The tournament will feature eight teams from eight different nations and will be played between October 30 to November 14. Group A (East) will consist of representative clubs from Chinese Taipei, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, while Group B (West) is set to feature a club each from India, IR Iran, Jordan, and Uzbekistan wherein India is to be represented by the Indian Women s League champions. ....

All India Football Federation (AIFF) General Secretary Kushal Das was elated with the introduction of the AFC Women s Club Championship as he felt that an Indian club participating in such a continental competition will be a great boost to women s football in the country.
“An Indian club playing in the AFC Women’s Club Championship is a great opportunity to boost the growth of women’s football in India. We already have two International events – the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, and the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup lined up in 2022. As a prelude to that, Indian representation in the Club Championship will further redefine women’s football in India to a large extent by capturing the imagination of all fans, said Kushal Das. ....
