People lined up outside supermarket to get COVID vaccine appointment turned away

The frustration was palpable as people, mostly senior citizens, began to line up in the cold outside the ShopRite of Byram vaccination clinic shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday, only to be told no appointments were available and to try again next week.
For Jane Wintermute, 76, of Sparta and Helen Totaro, 83, of Roxbury, it meant being turned away after dialing the store s vaccination hotline repeatedly over the last 10 days and struggling just to get through.
I keep calling the number, and they said they re out of the vaccine but to keep trying, Wintermute said. ....
