These officials were involved in the grant of licences to several companies. The accused were allegedly awarding licences without following due procedures. In this regard, the Petroleum Division issued a notification on Wednesday. It had formed a committee, headed by Joint Secretary Sajid Qazi, to probe the allegation of kickbacks for the award of licences for oil terminals. One official was found involved in issuing an illegal licence to a company on fake and unsigned safety and completion certificates. Both the top officials of PLL that deals with import of LNG, have also been declared guilty of gross willful negligence and failure to protect the interests of the 100 percent government-owned company. So much so, Adnan Gilani and Nadeem Nazir have also been found guilty of giving preferential treatment to Singapore based Gunvor and Italian company ENI viz-a-viz other LNG suppliers. According to its agenda, the CSB is considering promotions of all service cadres of the civil bureaucracy. Creative Commons/File ISLAMABAD: The Central Selection Board (CSB) has recommended promotion of bureaucrats belonging to the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), Secretariat Group and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in BS-21 and BS-20. Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) chairman Zahid Saeed convened a meeting of the board from Jan 4 to 6 to consider 396 officers for promotion. According to its agenda, the CSB is considering promotions of all service cadres of the civil bureaucracy.
