Doctors and health care workers have been at the forefront in the fight against coronavirus. Many of them got infected; some even lost their family members to COVID-19. Dr Mukund Penurkar, at Pune s Sanjeevan Hospital, lost his father to COVID-19 on April 26. Not only that, his brother and mother are also infected with coronavirus but he continued to looking after the patients. As the situation was critical at the hospital, he was back at work in three days.
I know the situation outside is not good. We tried our best to save my father at our hospital but unfortunately, we lost him on Monday. My brother and mother are still admitted here for COVID treatment and they are doing well now, Dr Penurkar told news agency ANI. He said that he returned on duty just three days of his father s death. ....

Pune (Maharashtra) [India], April 14 (ANI): COVID-19 cases are increasing in Pune every passing day, but Private hospitals are facing problems in treating patients due to shortage of oxygen supply and Remdesivir injections.
Currently, there are hardly any ventilator beds available in the city hospitals as the flow of patients has been increasing.
Speaking to ANI, Dr Mukund Penurkar, Director of Sanjeevan Hospital said that he has to either refuse admission to patients in need of oxygen supply or send them to other hospitals where it is available. ....

HARARE (Bloomberg) Zimbabwe has become the first African country to authorize the use of India’s only homegrown coronavirus vaccine, which the developers this week said showed strong efficacy.
The first batch of Covaxin, which was co-developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech International Ltd. and the Indian Council of Medical Research is due to arrive shortly, the Indian Embassy in the southern African nation said on its Twitter account.
