New Delhi: The government will take a final decision within the next two days on whether to conduct class 12 board exams amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Supreme Court was informed on Monday
Attorney General K K Venugopal told this to a bench of Justices A M Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari which said if the Centre decides to depart from the last year s policy, wherein the remaining board exams were cancelled due to the pandemic, then it must give tangible reasons for it. ....

In the wake of the rising COVID-19 case in the state, Maharashtra cancelled the Class 10 board exam and postponed the Class 12 exam. While the government has announced the policy for the tabulation of marks for Class 10, it has not come up with any specific update on the Class 12 board exam.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday addressed the state. During the speech, Thackeray demanded a uniform education policy in the country and stressed the need for revolutionary decisions in the field of education in view of the pandemic.
Education policy should be uniform for the country, especially for examinations that impact the future of students like Class 12. We have decided to cancel the Class 10 exams and will soon take a decision on the Class 12 exams. But I would appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take a call on having a uniform policy in the education sector, he said. ....
