Over £1m grants to support Hampshire's disabled children

FUNDING of over £1m has been agreed to support children and young people with disabilities across Hampshire.
On Wednesday, Hampshire County Council agreed grants in excess of £1m for voluntary groups and charitable organisations to support them in Short Break activities for children with disabilities or additional needs.
The Short Break activity grants are awarded to organisations providing safe, fun and interesting activities outside school hours, for children and young people aged 0-17 years, who hold a Gateway Card and live in the Hampshire County Council local authority area.
Among the organisations to receive the grants were Solent Youth Action in Eastleigh, Let Us Play in Fareham, The Rose Road Association in the New Forest, and Integr8 Dance in Winchester. ....

Food and support offered to vulnerable children in Eastleigh

VULNERABLE children are set to have access to extra food and support next February half-term.
A Community Grant from the new ‘connect4communities’ programme, led by Hampshire County Council is being given to Solent Youth Action, a youth provision charity in Eastleigh.
The grant of £1,940 will be used to run cook and eat sessions for children who are registered with a disability and from a low-income household.
The children will learn to cook specific meals, sit down to eat these meals together with their peers, and will take home recipe cards and ingredients to recreate the meal at home with their families. ....
