Opinion: High San Diego housing costs further divide our communities

Re “Your Say on who should control social media” (Jan. 23): Thoughtful people question the unrest in America. Some point to social media as fertile ground for misinformation. I want to point in a different direction: Income inequality as it plays out in San Diego County’s housing market.
I’m frankly tired of paging through mega-mansions in the Sunday paper. Recently, a $12,995,000 “brand new estate” was featured twice on the front of two separate sections. Buried in the Local section were objections by Escondido Mayor Paul McNamara to a redevelopment in his city. He and Councilwoman Martinez wanted affordable housing included in the project. So did I! ....
