Roman Steward Jr. was arrested after 20-year-old Ezekiel Archuleta was shot and killed Sept. 21 at a home on Penman Road North at 12th Avenue. Officers dispatched to a burglary in progress found the victim in the front yard with gunshot wounds. He died at a hospital.

Ex-girlfriend charged with murder in foiled Jacksonville Beach robbery

An 18-year-old woman has been arrested in what Jacksonville Beach police are calling a plot to rob an ex-boyfriend that instead resulted in a self-defense shooting death in a Sept. 21 home-invasion robbery on Penman Road. Samantha Allison Weiner of Ponte Vedra Beach was charged Wednesday in St. Johns County with second-degree murder and solicitation to commit robbery, police said. Officers were called about 1:15 a.m. on Sept. 21 to a reported burglary in progress with shots fired at the home near Beach Boulevard, police said at the time. They found 20-year-old Ezekiel Trey Archuleta dead on the front yard from gunshot wounds.
