Lucknow: The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Tuesday bought a 676.85 sq metre adjoining land for Rs 1 crore to increase the 70 acres of Ram Lala temple complex to an area of sprawling 107 acres.
The Trust General secretary Champat Rai bought this piece of land from its owner Swami Deepnarayan for Rs 1 crore. The registry of the land was done on Tuesday. The land is next to the famous Asharfi Bhawan, adjoining the 70 acre temple complex.
The BJP MLA from Gosainganj I.P. Tiwari and Trust senior member and RSS Ayodhya Pracharak Dr Anil Mishra were the witnesses in signing the registry papers for the land deal. ....

With Rs 2,100 crore in its kitty, Ram temple trust now mulling to launch global donation drive

LUCKNOW: The Ayodhya Ram temple trust is contemplating a global drive to collect donations after the Samarpan Nidhi Abhiyan run by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) volunteers concluded on February 27 with a collection of over Rs 2,100 crore.
According to Mahant Govind Dev Giri, the treasurer of the trust, a lot of requests were pouring in from Ram Bhakts living abroad to launch a global drive for collecting donations.
Giri said that a decision in this connection would be taken by the trust at a meeting of the trustees shortly. “Members will discuss modalities and protocol related to RBI, Finance Ministry, I-T regulations and clearances, to be followed for launching the Samarpan Nidhi Abhiyan globally, said one of the trustees. ....

Lucknow: Touted as the world’s largest fund collection drive, over Rs 1900 crores have so far been deposited in bank accounts of Lord Ram Lala during the 44-day Samarpan Nidhi Abhiyan which began on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti on January 15 and ended on Magh Purnima on Saturday, February 27.
The Sri Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Treasurer Swami Govind Giri said that so far over Rs 1900 crores have been deposited in Sri Ram Lala bank accounts. The amount may go beyond Rs 2,000 crores as many donation cheques are yet to be deposited and many are in queue for bank clearance.
