Fundraiser to renovate Cramerton's school for Blacks underway

Cramerton leaders are raising money to renovate and preserve a nearly century-old school house on Baltimore Drive.
When Fred Glenn heard there were plans to use the old Baltimore School - his former community center, and where his mother and aunt attended school - in a controlled burn nearly two decades ago, he purchased the school house with hopes of preserving it forever.
Now, Wendy Cauthen and her husband, Cramerton Mayor Will Cauthen, are raising money to help foot the cost of renovating Baltimore School. More than $7,000 has been raised so far on an online campaign filed on GoFundMe.
Wendy began helping Glenn to facilitate the effort three years ago, as she watched more and more developers come to the area with hopes of buying up, and sometimes demolishing, historical properties. ....
