Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Parks Bureau set out Wednesday morning in the hopes of stopping a handful of alleged graffiti vandals from plastering gang-related insignias on Val Verde Park walls.
However, after serving a warrant around 10 a.m. at a residence on the 30000 block of San Martinez Road in Val Verde, the Parks Bureau detectives walked away with more than a few cans of spray paint.
“We’ve just been having a large rate of taggings, and we’ve been getting hit pretty hard at Val Verde Park,” said Lt. Andrew Dahring, who heads up the North County Parks Bureau team for LASD. “It was indicated that it was part of the local gang (in Val Verde).” ....

KARACHI: The Sindh cabinet on Tuesday approved disbursement of a relief grant worth Rs4.021 billion among people affected by last year’s heavy monsoon rainfall through the mobile banking system.
Presiding over the cabinet meeting here, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that this would help the affected people to receive cash on showing their original computerized national identity cards (CNICs) to the mobile bank without going into the process of opening a bank account. ....

Sindh cabinet approves Rs4b for monsoon relief

The Sindh cabinet approved a relief grant of over Rs4 billion on Tuesday for those who sustained losses during the 2020 monsoon rains. The cash is to be disbursed among the affectees through the mobile banking system.
Besides, the cabinet approved the establishment of an anti-encroachment police station in Tharparkar district and a proposal for universalised social security system in the province, and set up committees to review the recruitment policy for teaching and non-teaching staff and to review a proposal by the agricultural department seeking its own works unit . ....
