From funding resources to potential solutions, Chiesa shared steps which have been taken at the County level to help all individuals experiencing homelessness, whether it’s those experiencing housing insecurity due to the pandemic or others suffering from mental health issues and substance abuse.

Stanislaus County officials gave supervisors an update earlier this month on the effectiveness of over $32 million worth of programs over a two-year period to combat homelessness. While some gains have been made, at least one supervisor decried the effort as a waste of time and money. ....
