In most places across America, animals mate and give birth in spring. Unlike other animals, cats can keep on reproducing, having litter after litter right up until the weather is cold again. On average, a cat can have anywhere from four to eight kittens during pregnancy. Since a cat can be pregnant several times a year, the cat population gets bigger and bigger every year.
