The NSW Women of the Year Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution made by women across NSW to industry, communities and society. The Awards profile women who have demonstrated excellence in their career and elsewhere, women who make significant contributions in their community and young women whose achievements make them leaders in changing the social and business landscape. Dr Wade, who works at the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute, was chosen for her work on a team which developed a drug delivery device aimed at improving outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients ....
Share Dr Chant is a role model, especially for women, and has absolutely excelled in her chosen field to affect lasting change. Minister for Women Bronnie Taylor said Dr Chant was an inspiration for all women . Her leadership and dedication to her job ensured NSW was kept safe. Since December, I’ve been supporting the vaccination rollout and it’s been a fantastic experience. It s a happy environment to be in, and the patients are so appreciative. In addition to the clinical team, I work with a team of 80 volunteers. It s a two-way thing, you are helping deliver vaccinations to thousands of people which is incredible, but for volunteers, it also gives an enormous boost of wellbeing. I’d recommend it wholeheartedly! Colette Burgess, a retired nurse, is one of the many retired NHS workers who have returned to work to help with coronavirus vaccinations. The 60-year-old now works with the research and development team at West Suffolk Hospital on a Covid-19 study and also works with the vaccination team. ....
