Culinary Angels is recruiting for a new volunteer class to help prepare, cook and package the mostly organic meals as well as wash dishes, and everyone 16 or older is invited to apply. The kitchen is located at 3701 Nevada St.

Culinary Angels Seeking Volunteers

Culinary Angels, a nonprofit that provides nutrient-rich meals to members of the community undergoing treatment for cancer or other serious illnesses, is recruiting for volunteers.
The organization relies on volunteers 16 and older to prepare and deliver meals to patients in Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and Danville.
Executive Director Lisa McNaney said volunteers are needed to prep, cook, and package meals at the groupâs kitchen, 3701 Nevada St., Pleasanton, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. The hours vary, but begin at 10 a.m.
âOur volunteers are the heart of our organization,â McNaney said.
All volunteers are required to pass an online state-accredited course on food handling and safety. ....

Reflecting their outstanding academic performance, school activities and community service, three graduating seniors from Pleasanton Foothill High School have been awarded $1000 memorial scholarships from Pleasanton North Rotary.
Allison Lourenco received the club’s annual Chuck Pickens Memorial Scholarship, in part, for her volunteer community services with Amador Valley Assistance League, Culinary Angels, Diablo Day Camp, Girl Scouts, Sunflower Hill Gardens, and the Stable Cafe.
Aubrey Kim was awarded the annual Robin Barnett Memorial Scholarship in recognition of her volunteer efforts on behalf of youth-oriented programs, such as the Light and Salt Bible Studies Ministry, the Mariachi Music Program, and Empowering Youth in Business. With onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kim also helped organize the Design Pact, a student group that used their computer skills to help small businesses shift from phy ....
