ANN ARBOR – After several months of negotiations, the United Physician Assistants at Michigan Medicine union has reached a tentative agreement on a three-year contract with the University of Michigan.
Negotiations began in September, three months after the university recognized the newly-formed union which represents approximately 340 PAs across the health system.
“This agreement reflects our deep appreciation and gratitude for the hard work and dedication of our PAs, including throughout the last year as we navigated the challenges of caring for patients during a pandemic,” president of the U-M Health Sy ....

The company will also offer medical benefits and housing facilities to the family of the deceased employee.

MUMBAI: From Tata Steel to Bajaj Auto to Tech Mahindra, more companies have rolled out a Covid support policy for families of employees claimed by the infection. India’s largest metal producer Tata Steel announced that it will continue to pay salary to the deceased employee’s family till the retirement age of 60 years.
The salary will be the same as his last compensation which he drew before his demise. Along with the salary, it will offer medical benefits, housing facilities and bear all educational expenses of the deceased employee’s children till their graduation in India. ....

The Icelandic parliament has passed a bill that will force the Senior Civil Servants Salary Board of Iceland (Kjararad) to lower the wages of MPs and other high ranking officials.
The board had originally rejected parliament’s request, on the grounds that lowering elected officials’ salaries by 5-15 percent would be illegal – even though they themselves asked for it.

ISLAMABAD: Ruling out the possibility of committing ‘manipulation’ for jacking up the GDP growth figures, Minister for Finance Shaukat Tarin has said the government would get the desired fiscal space from the IMF to avoid burdening masses more in the upcoming budget.
