KUCHING, Aug 3 ― The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) will tighten standard operating procedures (SOPs) and modify plan schedules as Sarawak prepares to enter Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) on Wednesday.
Its advisor Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said that the tightening of SOPs was due to the highly transmissible Delta variant and aerosol nature of Covid-19 as well as taking into account the emerging issues of the pandemic.

KUCHING, July 22 Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Openg today unveiled the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategies (PCDS) 2030, with the core objectives to change the economic structure by increasing the scale of production to capture efficiencies upstream and increasing downstream activities and growing the services sector to support the primary and secondary sectors’ activities in a sustainable manner.
He said other objectives are to modernise and increase efficiency driven by both digital and physical connectivity and to increase household income to GDP share by creating more jobs and encouraging entrepreneurship.

KUCHING, July 22 Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor Datuk Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian said the committee was taking firm action to detect the more infectious Delta variant of Covid-19 in the state.
He said all new Covid-19 cases will now be treated as though they were of the Delta variant, which was capable of airborne transmission.
