Mix 107.9 All Day National Library Week from April 4-10 with virtual events for the whole family, plus a Checkout Challenge encouraging CML customers to achieve 100,000 checkouts during the week. This year’s National Library Week holds a special meaning to CML, as most of its 23 library locations recently reopened for limited in-person services after being closed for much of the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting April 4, each person who checks out one item or more will automatically be entered into a drawing to win a $100 gift card from Kroger. One winner will be notified from each of CML’s 23 locations after National Library Week. One entry per person. CML employees and their immediate family members are not eligible. The Checkout Challenge is supported by the Columbus Metropolitan Library Foundation. ....
Strack & Van Til customers rounded up to raise $222,306.56 for the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana during a holiday season Checkout Challenge. The donation is enough to provide 667,000 meals to the needy. Highland-based Strack & Van Til asked customers to round up their grocery bill to the nearest dollar at all 20 supermarkets during November and December to help food-insecure neighbors. âI am so proud of our community and the Strack & Van Til customers. Those pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters that were donated at the end of every grocery bill combined to generate a level of food assistance that will help support so many familiesâ, said Victor Garcia, CEO of the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. âOur partnership with Strack & Van Til makes this type of impact possible. ....
