On Wednesday, February 23, Lompoc Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to Surf Connection, a surf shop in Lompoc, after a front glass break alarm went off at approximately 2:00 a.m.
Officers arrived minutes later and found the business had been burglarized. The front door was completely shattered and stacks of jeans appeared to be stolen.
Based on surveillance from within the business and nearby surveillance cameras, the subject was last seen running into the parking lot of a nearby motel.
LPD Detectives were able to review more nearby surveillance later in the morning and established the room the suspect had entered. ....

MILFORD A city man was killed after crashing into a parked car on East Broadway, shutting down a stretch of the road for hours Monday, according to police.
Police have identified the victim as 36-year-old Milford resident Mark Thibault.
First responders were dispatched around 6:30 a.m. for a reported accident at the intersection of East Broadway and Surf Avenue, according to police.
The preliminary investigation by the Traffic Division indicated that Thibault was driving on East Broadway when he hit an unoccupied, parked vehicle. ....

An Ocean Beach surf lifesaver says increased vehicle traffic on the beach is starting to cause problems.
On Friday about 2.30pm a motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Hawke s Bay Hospital with serious injuries after falling off on the Hawke s Bay beach.
