Civic body allows schools to conduct tests in Mumbai from January 18
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has allowed State, national and international educational boards to hold exams physically in Mumbai by following COVID-19 guidelines.
Last month, citing fear of a second wave, the BMC deferred the reopening of schools and colleges till January 15. However, it has now decided to permit the boards to conduct examinations. Not doing so could result in the loss of a year for students, the BMC said in its order issued on Tuesday night. ....

MUMBAI: The Mumbai civic body has allowed various state, national and international educational boards to conduct exams physically as per their schedule in the city while following all COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
Citing fear of a second COVID-19 wave, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) earlier had deferred the opening of schools and colleges here till January 15. However, it has now decided to permit the boards to conduct their examinations, as not doing so could result in loss of a year for students, the BMC said in its order issued late Tuesday night. ....

BMC has permitted educational boards to conduct offline or physical exams in Mumbai Schools from January 18, 2021. Cambridge Schools exams are scheduled to begin from January 23.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, BMC today gave its nod for conducting various board examinations in the city. Allowing the state, national and international education boards to conduct physical exams in the city, the civic body has agreed that not allowing exams could result in loss of a year.
Meanwhile, schools and colleges in Mumbai city under BMC jurisdiction continue to remain closed. As per the last order, schools would remain closed till January 15, 2021. The announcement regarding reopening of schools from January 16 or 18, however, has not been made as yet. ....
