VIDALIA, Ga. (AP) The FBI is searching for someone who pointed a laser at a military aircraft in March.
Investigators are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of anyone responsible.
The FBI says that around 9:50 a.m. on March 9, a U.S. Air Force aircraft was deliberately struck by a high-powered laser for about one minute. The laser caused temporary eye damage to a member of the flight crew on the aircraft, which was approaching the Savannah Air National Guard Base.
Investigators believe the laser strike originated from an area northeast of Vidalia. ....

The FBI, in coordination with the United States Air Force, is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for a laser strike on an aircraft that was headed towards the Savannah Air National Guard Base on March 9, 2021.
According to a release from the FBI, on March 9, at approximately 9:50 p.m., a United States Air Force aircraft was deliberately struck by a high-powered laser for about one minute. The laser caused temporary eye damage to a member of the flight crew and put the entire crew at risk. ....

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The FBI said a high-powered laser strike in southern Georgia caused temporary eye damage to a member of a United States Air Force flight crew, putting the aircraft and its occupants at risk. 
The FBI, in coordination with the U.S. Air Force, said it is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the party responsible for the incident that affected an aircraft approaching the Savannah Air National Guard Base on March 9. ....

The Hurricane Hunters flew their first mission to study winter storms this winter season out of Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi on Tuesday.
The WC-130J Super Hercules aircraft of the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron are best known for flying through the eyes of furious hurricanes. But even in the winter months, the Air Force said in a Thursday release, Hurricane Hunters are needed to collect vital meteorological data on severe seasonal storms. ....
