(FOX 9) - The U.S. Postal Service is honoring an award-winning playwright with Minnesota ties.
The late August Wilson is the face of a new stamp the 44th in the Black Heritage series. The postal service recently held a virtual dedication ceremony before the big reveal.

August Wilson Will Be Honored With a Commemorative Forever Stamp
Playwright August Wilson will be honored with a commemorative Forever stamp next year.
The stamp will be dedicated Jan. 28 on the Postal Service Facebook and Twitter pages. For more information, visit usps.com/blackheritage-augustwilson.

In the late 1960s, at the threshold of the Black Arts Movement, Wilson joined a group of poets, educators, and artists who formed the Centre Avenue Poets Theater Workshop. Wilson met friend and collaborator, Rob Penny, through this group, and in 1968, they co-founded the Black Horizon Theater, a community-based, Black Nationalist Theater Company in the Hill District of Pittsburgh. ....
