National steak house chain to move into former Ruby Tuesday; Trussville Council approves incentives

By Erica Thomas, managing editor TRUSSVILLE The Trussville City Council approved economic development incentives, for two developers who plan to do business on Chalkville Mountain Road, during its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. The council also honored the Trussville Mountain Bike team during the meeting. The team was invited to the meeting as councilors passed a proclamation commending the team for winning the 2021 state championship. The team has won three state championships over the last five seasons. The proclamation was approved unanimously, except for Councilor Jaime Anderson, who was not in attendance at the meeting. In other business, the council approved a resolution authorizing the execution of a project development and tax sharing agreement with GAJE, LLC., the owner of the Ruby Tuesday property on Chalkville Mountain Road.

(WBRC) - Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a missing 30-year-old woman from Birmingham. According to a post on their Facebook page, Sophia Shantae Ball was last seen on March 5, 2021 in the 5700 block of Chalkville Mountain Road. Deputies said she was wearing a light gray colored jacket. Sophia has brown hair, brown eyes and is 5′2″. If you have any information on Sophia’s whereabouts please call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450.

Trussville Milo s getting makeover after car crashed into building

TRUSSVILLE Milo’s Restaurant Holdings presented plans to revamp the Milo’s Hamburgers location in Trussville Crossings. The plan includes a total exterior refresh, minor changes to the parking lot and minor renovations to the dining area of the restaurant. The company plans to revamp several stores and already had plans to include Trussville in those plans, but an accident at the restaurant on Friday, March 5, accelerated the renovations. An SUV slammed into Milo’s, leaving a large hole in the side of the building that faces Chalkville Mountain Road.
