Unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2021 today, the strikingly-designed EVOS will live alongside the electric Mustang in China, but sadly won’t be spreading elsewhere such as the US. That’s a shame, because it’s certainly a distinctive EV. Ford says the design – described as “Progressive Energy in Strength” – is tailored to suit local tastes, with a blend of coupe and SUV aesthetics. ....

China-Europe freight trains provide a reliable choice in global logistics, thanks to their safety, stability and efficiency Thirteen containers of semi-finished LED televisions produced by Admiral Overseas Corporation’s factory in Xiamen, Fujian Province, got trapped in the logjam of the Suez Canal in late March. The televisions were scheduled to arrive in Istanbul by mid-April but the blockage made their arrival date uncertain. Even though the canal was cleared on March 29, it was estimated it would take about two weeks for the traffic to go back to normal. Ford’s new EV organization will provide a “one-stop ‘Everything Online’ experience which includes service appointments, pickup and delivery of cars,” the company has confirmed. While the Ford Mustang Mach-E is already on sale in various markets and has started to reach the hands of customers, models sold in China will actually be built in China and evidently, the car manufacturer believes the most efficient way to get them to consumers is through a similar direct sales model as used by Tesla for many years. Of course, Tesla and Ford’s new EV organization in China aren’t the only automakers with such a sales model. Electric vehicle startups Rivian and Lucid Motors have also announced plans to sell their forthcoming models directly to consumers in the United States, although this plan has come under fire by the Illinois Automobile Dealers Association. ....
