Jones Memorial Primary School installs new interactive white boards following fundraiser

THE children of Jones Memorial School have been getting to grips with new technology following a fundraiser by Friends of Jones Memorial Primary School to install a full suite of new interactive whiteboards.
The Friends of Jones Memorial Primary School actively worked to raise £26,000 for the school through a host of fundraising events, which included a magical Winter wonderland, sponsored bounces, and table quizzes.
The determined group of parents and teachers were unperturbed by the current Covid-19 situation, and have shown their creative side by continuing their fundraising efforts through virtual sales, bubble discos and much more.
The motivation behind their efforts was the drive to replace every interactive whiteboard in the school with a state-of-the-art new touchscreen system – a Promethean ActivPanel 75” whiteboard, with touch screen display – something they are delighted to have achieved. ....

Jones Memorial Primary School pupils welcome special Easter visitors

THE pupils at Jones Memorial Primary School had some special visitors before they headed off on their Easter break on Monday.
The children were joined by a selection of animals, including some chicks and a pet lamb named Gerry.
Speaking on the special visit, Principal Sandra Isherwood said: The school had a visit from some chicks today, and the children helped to clean their bed out.
Then they took the pet lamb for a walk, which was beautiful, and drew some lovely pictures.
The activities were organised with help from the older children, as Mrs. Isherwood explained.
The Primary Seven pupils organised an Easter egg for Primary Two. They designed clues to lead the children to each basket of eggs, which had been hidden in different areas including the garden, the poly tunnel, the woodland and the climbing frame. ....

Fermanagh church donates computers to Jones Memorial PS to help children during lockdown

COMMUNITY spirit is in abundance as members of Enniskillen Methodist Church showed great generosity by donating computers to Jones Memorial Primary School to help support learning during the current Covid-19 lockdown.
Church Minister, Reverend Lorna Dreaning, along with Treasurer, William Cooper, arrived at the school last Wednesday (January 27) with four computers for families to use for remote learning.
The church, which is located at Darling Street, Enniskillen, had received donations from members to support children who needed access to technology to support learning.
As a result, four devices – and more – will be allocated to families as gifts.
Sandra Isherwood, Principal, extended thanks on behalf of the school, saying: We are very grateful to the Methodist Church in Enniskillen for their kind donation of computers. We have families who will benefit immensely and immediately from this thoughtful generosity. ....
