Commissioners Court proclaims August as National Immunization Awareness Month

At its July 27 meeting, the Hays County Commissioners Court adopted a proclamation declaring August 2021 as National Immunization Awareness Month.
The council believes the presence of an immunization awareness month permits children, adolescents and adults the education and resources needed to safely receive available vaccinations. The council accepted the proclamation, and Eric Schneider, Hays County epidemiologist, provided more information to the commissioners on the county health department s promise to vaccinate children 12 years and older for free, even if they are uninsured.
âAnyone 12 years of age and up can do their part in helping slow down the spread of COVID-19 by becoming fully vaccinated,â Schneider says. âIn order to assist our community and getting every child fully vaccinated, the Hays County Local Health Department partnered with the Live Oak Health Partners Community Clinic to provide free vaccines to children uninsured or underinsured for ....

A man is accused of sexually assaulting several women after luring them to go ghost hunting with him, officials said this week.
In a news release, Multi-County Crime Stoppers of Montgomery, Liberty and San Jacinto counties said a joint investigation prompted by several women coming forward led them to David Lynn Turner, 46, of Houston.
Officials said he targeted several of his victims through various social media platforms and dating apps, drove the women to remote locations in San Jacinto County and surrounding counties under the guise of “ghost hunting” and would then force himself sexually on the women in various ways, according to the news release citing officials. ....

SOUTHEAST TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – San Jacinto County and Montgomery County Detectives are searching for potential victims of former reserve Texas Peace Officer David Lynn Turner, who’s facing two counts of sexual assault.

HOUSTON - A Houston man is accused of driving women to remote locations under the guise of ghost hunting and then sexually forcing himself upon the women in various ways, authorities say.
David Lynn Turner, 46, of Houston, is charged with two counts of sexual assault. He was in the San Jacinto County Jail with a $500,000 bond. Authorities say Turner formerly worked as a reserve Texas Police Officer in Harris County between 2012 and 2015.
On May 4, the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office conducted a joint investigation into allegations of sexual assault made by several victims describing similar incidents. ....
