A man who fell while riding a bicycle on a trail in Florida Canyon in Balboa Park Wednesday morning suffered a head injury and had to be extricated by San Diego firefighters, a fire official said.
The man, who was not wearing a helmet, apparently was found by other people riding along the trails near Zoo Place and Park Boulevard shortly before 10 a.m.
The man suffered a major head injury, said San Diego Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief Rick Ballard.
Video by OnScene TV showed nine emergency responders helping to carry the man out of the canyon on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance. ....
