SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. A single mother from the San Francisco Bay area who disappeared eight months ago after reportedly embarking on a 500-mile “pandemic road trip” across California is dead, according to reports. Authorities confirmed human remains found in a rural, desert area of San Bernardino County, just north of Joshua Tree National Park, have been positively identified, Mercury News reported.
Hikers discovered skeletal remains on Jan. 31 in the vicinity of Danby Road and Amboy Road in Wonder Valley, Calif., a sparsely populated unincorporated community in the Morongo Basin of Southern California’s High Desert region, about 10 miles east of Twentynine Palms, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said. The remains have since been identified as Erika Ashley Lloyd, her family publicly announced on Facebook Thursday, after authorities delivered the news.

During the Feb. 1 Barstow City Council meeting, which was held via Zoom, 18 public comments went unheard by those watching online when they were not read into the record.
City Attorney Matthew Summers announced on Jan. 19 when 29 public comments went unheard that comments would not be read aloud during meetings, saying state law does not require emailed public comments to be read aloud.
“Rather, the requirement is that the emails be provided to the Council and that has been done,” said Summers, who did not cite the referenced state law.

San Bernardino County to ramp up vaccination efforts
Health officials in San Bernardino County said that they are working to ramp up vaccination efforts against the coronavirus.
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - San Bernardino County plans to open several additional vaccination clinics soon and a total of five mass vaccination sites. There will be multiple super sites because we are the country’s largest geographical county, said San Bernardino Co. Board Chairman Curt Hagman.
The first mass vaccination site will start accepting appointments by next week for all healthcare and critical workers in Phase 1A and seniors 65 and over.

The San Bernardino County District Attorney s Office is reviewing investigative reports from the county sheriff s department regarding the El Dorado Fire, which was sparked in September during a gender reveal party held near Yucaipa.
The county DA s office received the completed reports earlier this week, and deputy district attorneys assigned to the case will begin reviewing them, the office said Thursday in a news release. They will also review reports from Cal Fire, as well as other investigative reports and evidence. While we know our community wants answers, we have to be diligent and thorough in understanding every aspect of this case so that we can render the appropriate filing decision, which we anticipate issuing no later than March 1, 2021, the DA s office said in a statement.
