Four people charged with Newmarket blackmail plot | East Anglian Daily Times

Four people have been accused of being part of a blackmail plot in Suffolk.
The two men and two women are charged with conspiracy to blackmail in 2018.
David Grintuch and Charleye Keenan were both arraigned at Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday and entered not guilty pleas.
Grintuch, 36, of Ealing Road, Brentford, is charged with making an unwarranted demand of £4,000 at Newmarket between July 1 and September 20, 2018.
Keenan, 26, of Jesmond Road, Grays is also accused of conspiring to blackmail and with acquiring, using or possessing  criminally obtained cash.
At the request of their legal representatives, Aaron Keenan, 24, of no fixed address, and Tallia De-Silva, 36, of Astrop Terrace, London, have yet to be arraigned but will appear before the court again on March 23. ....

Supermarket Income REIT plc (LSE: SUPR), the real estate investment trust providing secure, inflation-protected, long income from grocery property in the UK, announces the acquisition of a further stake (the Acquisition ) in the beneficial interest in one of the UK s largest portfolios of supermarket properties (the Portfolio ) from an Aviva Investors managed fund.
The 25.5% beneficial interest has been acquired through the Company s existing 50:50 joint venture (the JV ) with British Airways Pension Trustees Limited ( BAPTL ). The purchase price is £115.0 million (excluding acquisition costs) meaning that the Company s contribution to the JV to fund the Acquisition is £57.5 million (excluding acquisition costs).
The JV acquired its initial 25.5% beneficial interest from British Land Plc in May 2020. Following this second acquisition, the JV s ownership in the Portfolio is 51.0%. The remaining 49.0% beneficial interest is held by Sainsbury s plc. ....

Covid lockdown UK: Hundreds queue for London food bank in 'largest line ever seen'


Hundreds of people formed the largest queue ever seen by staff working at a food bank as Covid-19 continues to cause unprecedented levels of food poverty in the UK.
London s Community Kitchen livestreamed people queuing 7ft apart outside the bank in Wembley, West London on Saturday at 11am.
The group s head of outreach Afzal Parkar said a week s worth of food was given to 520 people collecting for 2,000 residents that day.

A line for a food bank stretching down the road was the largest queue a community kitchen has ever encountered, it said.
London s Community Kitchen live-streamed people queuing two-metres apart outside the food bank in Wembley, west London, on Saturday.
The organisation said the third lockdown had intensified demand.
Head of outreach Afzal Parkar said food poverty had gone out of control with similar queues across London.
The queue was filmed at 11:00 GMT as London s Community Kitchen s weekly food bank opened at Brent Indian Association in Ealing Road. ....

A complaint accusing three Brent councillors of breaching the code of conduct by attending a foodbank has been rejected, with a report concluding the visit was to lend support  rather than being a political stunt. 
GLA election candidate and Dudden Hill representative Cllr Krupesh Hirani, Brent Council leader Cllr Muhammed Butt, Alperton representative Cllr Trupti Sangani and Harrow councillor Ajay Maru attended a surplus food market at Alperton Baptist Church, organised by Sewa Day, on January 9.
