“Outdoor Summer Praise Singalong” series began on Saturday, June 5. The series is taking place at Melvin Miller Park on Saturdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at a performance venue by the pond.

Champaign Family YMCA board member Pat Bass saw his idea become reality when the “Outdoor Summer Praise Singalong” series began on Saturday, June 5. The series is taking place at Melvin Miller Park on Saturdays through Aug. 28 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at a performance venue by the pond. ....

At the Champaign County Board of Developmental Disabilities, we provide valuable services and support to people with disabilities in the community all year round.
Although our employees work all year to ensure people with disabilities are receiving the services they need to live and work in Champaign County, summer does bring a few new opportunities for our Board to get involved in the community. For the fifth straight summer, our Board has partnered with the Champaign Family YMCA and Champaign Residential Services, Inc. to provide a camp experience to eligible children in the area. These students with disabilities are supported by trained providers to participate in activities along with typical peers at a week-long YMCA day-camp. ....

During the 2020-2021 academic year, one of the many clubs associated with the Graham High School Flight Program was the aviation club.
GHS Flight is an after-school program made possible through a 21st Century Grant awarded to the Champaign Family YMCA and the Graham Local Schools.
Mark Curtner, an aviation instructor through Ohio Hi-Point, was hired as a consultant by the Flight Program to advise the aviation club throughout the year.
His leadership inspired several students to spend time with the club learning concepts of aviation, preparing for the FAA Section 107 drone certification and preparing for the FAA private pilot ground school exam. ....
