On May 31 and June 1, 1921, the Greenwood District, 35 blocks of prosperous Black businesses and a community of well-off Black people was smoldering from an attack of racial terrorism.
Today what’s left is only a small nook at the corner of Greenwood and Archer.

I started this series to cope with life in quarantine and it quickly took over my creative brain, Kerschl says in the announcement. All of my years of reading and loving manga have been channeled into this story and every page makes me happy.
The first issue of Death Transit Tanager follows her as she attempts to help a space trucker with a broken heart.
While Kerschl is best known for his work on DC s Gotham Academy and Image Comics Isola, Kerschl first major work was the 2011 webcomic The Abominable Charles Christopher - which won an Eisner Award, which he continues to work on to this day. ....

Apr. 4 Decatur business operators said they’re ready for the state mask mandate to end Friday, but most plan to encourage customers and staff to continue mask wearing, at least in the short term.
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has said she’ll let the order requiring masks expire Friday.
“If Gov. Ivey drops the mask mandate, we’re not going to require masks to be worn,” said Charles Christopher, manager of Martin’s Family Clothing. “However, our associates will be wearing them for the time being. We’ll monitor other businesses and see how our customers react to any change. Presently, we encourage our customers to wear them. I believe most people are like me, we’re ready for most things to get back to normal.” ....

DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) - As Alabama’s mask order is set to end Friday, April 9, the Decatur City Council members have a similar decision on their hands. At Monday’s city council meeting they’ll discus what to do with Decatur’s local mask order.
For a decision to be made on the mask order Monday night, the city council would need a unanimous vote for immediate consideration. If that happens, they can vote to repeal with a simple majority vote. ....
