The members of American pop band LANY have extended a congratulatory message to Filipino weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, who ended a 97-year drought for the Philippines in its quest for an Olympic gold medal recently.
On their respective social media accounts, lead singer Paul Jason Klein wrote: “Congrats to @hidilyndiaz and the Philippines (who have been so unbelievable to my band) on ur first ever gold medal,” while drummer Jake Clifford Goss uploaded a wacky snap of Hidilyn.
“History. Mahal kita sobra, Philippines!,” he added.
Keyboardist Charles Leslie Priest also applauded the two-time Olympic medalist.
